Sometimes I feel like we have got so much done in our new house. Other days, I feel like we will never be finished. I just love being in our house and I feel so blessed we were able to build a home. Each day a little more gets put away, organized, decorated, and furnished. Most recently, I finished my son’s room.
He loves Star Wars and has been wanting his room themed like this for a while. I tried to incorporate some of the same decor he had in our townhouse. I ended up selling his headboard and getting a new bed. I really like the black metal bed. It was a good price and makes a statement. I used his same bedding and just added a Chewbacca pillow from Target.
The nightstand was another Target find. I knew I wanted a cute task lap for the top and Ikea came through for the win. I found this wood crate at Wal-Mart unfinished to go under the nightstand. I put on a coat of Minwax Jacobean stain and it currently is holding a fish tank (don’t ask).
Ok, we got this bookcase for free when we were first married. It has been through more transformations than I can remember. It is such a good piece for my son’s room. It holds all his toys and books. It is not too big or small and fits perfectly in every room he has. It had red stripes and bins from his last room theme. I decided to paint over the red with gray. I found some new galvanized bins from Wal-Mart. It fits perfectly in his Star Wars room now.
I knew I wanted some cute Star Wars patent prints for above the bed. I searched everywhere and finally came across some that I loved. Home James Art is fabulous. All of her prints are beautiful and perfectly done. I was so happy to have found her! Jo is just the sweetest lady you will ever meet. I love all her work and I am thrilled to use more of her prints (some beautiful botanicals) in my front room reveal (hopefully I can show that in a few weeks). Run over to her Facebook page and see her latest sale! I found these frames at Target.
We also switched out the fan to this sleek black one. I love how the black pops against the white. My son was cute and grateful for his new room. I finished it while he was at school. When he came home, he was so excited. He told me he loved his Star Wars room at least twenty times that day. 🙂
